UK entrepreneurs plan to beat Covid-19 with first mobile UV light cleaning solution

2 March, 21

UK manufacturer VIOA alongside its strategic partner AME Group is bringing its mobile and unique UV steriliser to market in order to support care homes, schools, gyms and retailers with the battle against Covid-19.

Together VIOA and AME Group are developing the UK’s first fully mobile UV steriliser that can kill 99.99% of all viruses and bacteria in less than five minutes. The vision of the VIOA is to give businesses and healthcare managers the safety, flexibility and affordability to keep their customers and staff safe.

Traditional cleaning methods are proven to be only 50% effective, and in the age of the coronavirus a UVC cleaning solution that can de-activate micro-organisms such as viruses, bacteria, mould and fungi is needed across industries and markets – not just for those with the biggest funds at their disposal.

AME Group’s Design Manager, Tim Stern, says:
“We wanted to ensure the VIOA could enter the market quickly, but still needed to complete our due diligence to ensure the first mechanical prototype matched our client’s brief. This brief was for the product to be mobile, light and usable without any training processes being required.

The AME Group shares VIOA’s vision of enabling businesses and organizations of any size to benefit from this new cleaning solution. This product is set to make a real difference in the battle against coronavirus and against future viruses.”

Mark White, Managing Director of VIOA says:
“We have worked very closely with AME and adopted a ground up approach to development, considering; performance, form, ergonomics, ease of use and manufacturing.”
